This rare survivor 1964 Pontiac GTO was finished in its original code “S” Saddle Bronze years ago and still looks great. This southern GTO was sold new in Texarkana, Texas where it spent most of its life which accounts for its amazing original sheetmetal and body structure. The doors, hood and trunklid fit like the day it was new. Very nice original chrome and brightwork. Pontiac rally wheels are wrapped with redline tires and look and fit just right.
INTERIOR
The factory bucket seats have been refinished in the correct light saddle covers for a fresh look. The carpet is new. Wood steering wheel for a muscle car look and feel. Very nice original dash and gauges that are clear and bright. Factory AM radio. White ball shifter with no console lets you know this “GOAT” means business.
MECHANICS
Under the hood looks just like the factory intended with a detailed and code correct (78X) 389 325 horsepower engine. Chrome air cleaner and valve covers dress the powerplant nicely. The Muncie M20 4 speed transmission shifts power to the positrac rear with a 3.23 gear.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The undercarriage of this GTO has amazing original floors with crisp pinch welds and seams that are rarely found on an unrestored muiscle car. The trunk is excellent with no patches or evidence of issues which is again amazing for a car of its age.
